Seabourn

The cast features four lead vocalists and a dance couple. Contracts are usually five to seven months long.

All rehearsals take place at our own private premises, BK Studios, which is located in Northamptonshire, less than one hour’s train ride from London Euston.

During rehearsals, you will be provided with accommodation in townhouses that are a few minutes walk away from the studio.

If you are joining us from outside the UK, you will be provided with a flight from your nearest international airport.

Rehearsals take place six days per week – Monday to Saturday. During rehearsals, you are required to wear black rehearsal wear at all times. You will also need:

  • Girls: jazz shoes or trainers and Latin heels. Flesh coloured multi-way bras for costume fittings and dress runs. Suitable fitted flesh coloured underwear.
  • Guys: jazz shoes or trainers. Suitable fitted underwear (flesh coloured and black) for costume fittings and dress runs.

Each ship has its own collection of repertoire of five production shows, including An Evening With Sir Tim Rice that features fleet wide. There is also a Classical Sailaway, which is performed when sailing out of select ports such as Venice.

During rehearsals you will learn a collection of shorter performances including a Christmas Show (when applicable).

Singers have their own cabins and the dance couple share their cabin.

Each cabin has its own bathroom (with a shower), television, wardrobe and desk space. Depending on the ship, your cabin may also have a window. Your cabin will be cleaned daily and personal laundry is complimentary.

Singers can dine in The Dining Room and The Colonnade for breakfast and lunch without prior reservation. For dinner, you will require a reservation to eat in The Dining Room, The Colonnade and The Grill by Thomas Keller if you are not hosting a guest table.

Dancers can dine in The Dining Room and The Colonnade for breakfast and lunch without prior reservation. For dinner, you must be hosting a guest table to dine in The Dining Room and The Colonnade.

All cast members can visit Seabourn Square if there are free tables. Take away isn’t available to the cast.

Dress codes apply when dining in any guest restaurant. All cast members have access to The Officer’s Mess for all meals.

All cast members have access to the guest gym, outside of peak times. There is also a crew gym onboard and some of the ships also have outside gym equipment within the Crew Deck.

Cast members benefit from discounted treatments within the onboard Spa.

Singers are required to partake in some social duties. On evenings where there are no shows, you may be asked to host a table with guests in one of the guest restaurants. All crew and cast members are required to partake in safety training and drills.

As you are listed on the crew manifest, you will be on the In Port Manning (IPM) Schedule. This means that during some port days, you are required to remain onboard. This is a good opportunity for scheduled rehearsals, self-learn, going to the gym or relaxing on crew deck.

Dancers are required to partake in additional duties. These include:

  • Safety training and drills.
  • Ship walk and library sweep.
  • Games and Marina duty.
  • Socialising.
  • Fashion shows.
  • Bridge tours.
  • Neptune Ceremony when crossing the Equator.
  • Assist with the set up or decoration of deck events.
  • Church / Sabbath set up.
  • Welcoming guests back to the ship on the gangway (if you are on IPM).

On days where there are no shows, dancers may be required to assist with:

  • Embarkation assistance.
  • Host tables in guest restaurants.
  • Greet guests on doors of the Grand Salon.

Depending on the ship’s itinerary, dancers may be required to assist with:

  • Antartica duties.
  • Alaska duties – assisting with Zodiac and Kayak tours.

Yes, the dance couple host dance classes onboard for the guests approximately twice per week. The format will be explained during rehearsals.

Seabourn operate a Friends and Family scheme whereby discounted voyages are available from time to time. Please visit the Crew Purser’s Office onboard for more details. Discounted voyages cannot be booked prior to your embarkation and should not be booked for install periods.

After a year of working with Seabourn, those with their own cabin will be eligible for Friend On Board, whereby you are permitted to have a guest stay with you in your cabin. They do not have full guest status and are subject to the same code of conduct and onboard privileges as the cast. Terms and conditions apply.

Color Line

There are two casts, each featuring four lead vocalists and eight contemporary and commercial dancers. Each cast member has a specific role and therefore has a direct counterpart in the other cast.

Onboard assignments for singers last two weeks, followed by two weeks break at home, whilst the other cast perform onboard. This rotation continues for one year.

Singers begin vocal coaching at our own private premises, BK Studios, which is located in Northamptonshire, less than one hour’s train ride from London Euston.

During rehearsals, you will be provided with accommodation in townhouses that are a few minutes walk away from the studio.

Once vocal coaching is complete, you will join the dancers in Kyiv for choreography, staging and runs before embarking Color Magic.

Dancers rehearse in Kyiv for the duration of the rehearsal process.

Once most of the choreography has been taught, the singers will join you in Kyiv to continue staging and runs before embarking Color Magic.

Every September, two brand new productions debut aboard Color Magic.

The current productions are Atlantic Crossing – a high energy concert style performance featuring music that has conquered both sides of the Atlantic and Believer, a modern musical featuring tracks such as Another Day of Sun, Here I Go Again and This Is Me.

Each evening, one of the two shows is performed twice (usually at 19:00 and 21:00 subject to schedule) and the shows alternate each day.

 

Singers are required to perform a five-minute vocal pop-up performance to advertise the evening’s entertainment.

Dancers are required to host a dance class – once every four days.

Outside of performances, cast members are not required to partake in any duties. As you are not crew member status, you are not involved in any of the onboard safety drills.

Color Magic sails daily between Oslo and Kiel. You are permitted to get off the ship every day until 13:30 (subject to schedule), other than during install periods or scheduled rehearsals.

You are responsible for your own costume laundry (hand washing) and minor repairs. Guidance will be provided during the install period.

Every cast member has their own private cabin with a bathroom (with a shower), television, wardrobe and desk space. Cabins are cleaned weekly.

Dancers have a cabin with a window subject to availability.

All of your meals are provided in The Mess, which is open at all times other than when it is being cleaned and from 2:00-6:30AM. As well as the the daily meal choices, The Mess includes a fresh salad bar, seasonal fruit section and free-from options.

Outside of install periods, you can request a reservation in one of the guest restaurants via the Company Stage Manager (CSM). Prices are charged at guest rates.

Cast members pay a fee of €10 or 10 NOK per month into the Crew Welfare Package. This package includes the use of the chill-out lounge, movie lounge, WiFi, fully equipped gym and boxing studio, massage chairs, gaming room, free access to laundry and ironing facilities, the use of musical instruments and shoreside bicycles – as well as crew events.

As well as the crew gym, you have access to the Fitness Centre and Spa on Deck 13 from 07:00 to 14:00. Please show your ID card before entering. If it is busy with guests, you will be asked to return at another time.

Discount codes for trips aboard Color Magic may be available during low-seasons. Please ask the Company Stage Manager (CSM) for more details. You are not permitted to have a guest stay with you in your cabin at any time.

If you would like to have a guest visit you onboard during port hours, please request a Visitors Pass from the CSM at least 48 hours in advance. If you would like them to join you for lunch, add their name to the list in The Mess.

Princess World Cruise

Pacific Princess features two vocalists and six dancers.

Sun & Sea Princess feature two vocalists and ten dancers.

All rehearsals take place at our own private premises, BK Studios, which is located in Northamptonshire, less than one hour’s train ride from London Euston.

During rehearsals, you will be provided with accommodation in townhouses that are a few minutes walk away from the studio.

If you are joining us from outside the UK, you will be provided with a flight from your nearest international airport.

Singers are not required to partake in crew duties outside of safety training but may be invited to socialise in guest venues in the evening.

Dancers are required to partake in some additional duties. Please contact our Casting Associate for more details, as different requirements apply to each ship.

Holland America Line

Amsterdam features four vocalists and six dancers.

Prinsendam feature four vocalists and four dancers.

All rehearsals take place at our own private premises, BK Studios, which is located in Northamptonshire, less than one hour’s train ride from London Euston.

During rehearsals, you will be provided with accommodation in townhouses that are a few minutes walk away from the studio.

If you are joining us from outside the UK, you will be provided with a flight from your nearest international airport.

Aboard the Prinsendam, there are four production shows.

Singers have their own cabins and the dancers share a cabin between two.

Each cabin has its own bathroom (with a shower), television, wardrobe and desk space.

  • Attend Captain’s cocktail parties and other themed events.
  • Backstage tours featuring a Cast Chat (Q&A session).
  • Dance classes (dancers only).
  • In Port Manning (IPM).
